I focus in functional, minimal dinnerware with just a little edge. All work is hand-thrown and trimmed on the wheel, dipped in hand-crafted glaze, and fired in-house.
Uglymug believes in voting rights. All profits from the brand go to progressive, democratic organizations dedicated to voter enfranchisement. Previous recipients include Fair Fight Action. This batch will go to: The Brennan Center for Justice.
Why “Ugly?” The name Uglymug comes from my first ever coffee cup, appropriately named “Joe’s Ugly Mug.” It was ugly, and it was quickly lost.
A note on safety:
Safety’s no joke when it comes to glaze. Uglymug glazes are non-toxic and have been professionally lab tested to ensure no chemical leaching. That means they’re safe to use again and again.
